Emergencies

outofhoursIn severe emergencies, e.g. chest pain or collapse, you should telephone 999 for an ambulance.

After calling the ambulance you may wish to call the practice for further advice.

For trivial or less important medical issues please consider ringing 111 or speaking to your local pharmacist. There is also a walk-in centre at the Broad Street Mall in Reading and the minor injuries unit in Henley.

If you need a Doctor or Nursing help:

Please telephone the surgery on 0118 934 6680.

During surgery hours the message will tell you to press 1 for a medical emergency and the receptionists will deal with your problem immediately. The receptionist will ask you to call back if it is not an emergency to keep this line free.

If the surgery is closed the message will tell you what to do.

Between 6.30pm and 8am weekdays and at weekends we are covered by NHS 111. You may be given advice, seen at the nearest out of hours centre or offered a home visit.
