Home Visits

Most medical problems are dealt with more appropriately at the surgery where all equipment and services are available.

We appreciate the difficulty some patients have getting to the surgery. If transport is a problem, contact the Twyford Volunteers on 0118 934 3010. The receptionist will try to make an appropriate appointment if difficulties arise.

If you feel a visit is necessary, a doctor will phone you to discuss the need and make arrangements. We would be grateful if requests are made as early as possible as the doctors have to fit the visits in between surgeries.

Telephone Consultations

If you wish to speak to your doctor rather than coming to the surgery, please telephone reception who will arrange for your doctor to call you back. Examples of when this would be helpful include if you do not need to be examined in person and would just like some advice, if your medication needs to be reviewed by the Doctor and you don’t need your blood pressure taken, if you need to discuss your test results, if you have an ongoing issue that your Doctor has seen you about before, or if you need a certificate after being seen in hospital and a hospital letter is available.

Some queries can be dealt with by other members of staff. Our secretaries can discuss changing referrals from NHS to private, our administration staff can advise on private forms and fees and our dispenser can help with any prescription/medication queries or requests.
